LANSING (WKZO) — Equality Michigan is hailing Governor Snyder’s push during his State of the State address to try again to expand the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.
Efforts to widen the law to include protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Michigan residents failed to advance last year. Snyder said he appreciates the prior discussions, but added it’s time to “show we can deal with issues of discrimination in our state.”
Equality Michigan has been pushing to expand the law for the past two decades.
