LANSING (WKZO) — A plan will be unveiled Tuesday night by Governor Rick Snyder to combine Michigan’s two state health agencies.
The Community Health and Health Services departments would become the Department of Health and Human Services. A spokesman for Snyder says the governor is proposing the idea in an effort to make sure all of Michigan’s residents have access to the benefits they need.
If approved, the department would become the state’s largest division with over 14-thousand employees.
