BAY CITY (WKZO) — The cremated remains of a South Carolina police officer were brought back to his home state of Michigan, where family and friend are saying goodbye.
Mauldin Police Officer Austin Gotowka was killed January 5th when he lost control of his motorcycle. He was only 22-years-old, but Police Chief M. Bryan Turner remembers the young officer as one of his most trustworthy and hard-working officers.
Gotowka was a 2010 graduate of Bay City Western High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard since 2009.
