LANSING (WKZO) — Three Republicans in the state House are pushing for the repeal of Michigan’s prevailing wage law.
Representatives Brad Jacobsen, Aric Nesbitt and Amanda Price are co-sponsoring the bill, arguing the wage law forces contractors on state-funded projects to pay artificially high wages as part of union agreements. Price called the law outdated, saying fewer than 20-percent of those who work on state-funded construction projects are union members.
Governor Snyder told reporters repealing the law is not on his radar, but did not say he would veto it.
