HOLLAND (WKZO) — They may be small colleges, but the rivalry in West Michigan between Hope and Calvin colleges is big enough to attract the attention of “The New York Times.”
The “Times” published a story this week after their most recent game on January 10th, and Hope College sports information director Alan Babbitt says the piece is generating a lot of buzz for both schools. Hope and Calvin are separated by just a 30-minute drive between Holland and Grand Rapids, and have been playing basketball against each other since 1920.
Hope leads the series with 98 wins, while Calvin has won 91 games. Babbitt notes just 65-points separate the total points scored in the 189 games of the series.
