RIVES JUNCTION, MI (WTVB) – A daredevil is dead after a stunt that failed near Jackson. WLNS-TV 6 in Lansing is reporting that Michigan State Police say the man leapt from a TV tower just north of Jackson and State Police say his parachute did not open. The base jumper climbed to near the top of the 1,000 foot tall tower and jumped late Wednesday afternoon, but there is no room for error in a jump like that.
The tower at Rives Junction belongs to WLAJ television, an ABC network affiliate in the Lansing area. The name of the jumper has not been released.
