LANSING (WKZO) — State lawmakers are back at work in Lansing with the start of the new term on Wednesday.
Not a lot will be done for the next several weeks other than getting organized, but new House Speaker Kevin Cotter of Mount Pleasant has his sights set on one top priority right away. He says passing a budget this spring is paramount, and is awaiting the proposal from the governor’s office next month.
Governor Snyder will deliver his State of the State Address next Tuesday night at 7:00, laying out his agenda for the next year. Snyder’s speech will be held two hours before President Obama gives the State of the Union Address before a joint session of Congress.
