KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A Kalamazoo Taxi Driver has been convicted on 15 rape and gun charges for sexually assaulting a customer.
Robert Prescott was driving for the God Speed Taxi Service when the crime occurred a year ago this week.
The 39-year-old was charged with letting a woman into his cab and then driving her to a remote parking lot when he repeatedly raped her at gun point.
The victim testified at trial that the attack has left her traumatized and unable to work.
Prescott, a four time-offender, was convicted on four counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, multiple gun felonies, unlawful imprisonment and felonious assault. He could get up to life when he is sentenced next month.
