LANSING (WKZO) — Michigan Senator Judy Emmons was honored on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day for her work fighting crime. She was given the Michigan Liberator of the Year Award at a ceremony Saturday evening in Livonia. Emmons says that Michigan is taking a leading role in ending this modern day slavery. She says, “We have new tools to crack down on these criminals, support the survivors, and increase training for those on the front lines.
