OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — For the second time this week, someone has robbed a bank In Oshtemo Township, just west of Kalamazoo, but this time they walked away empty handed, and possibly stained by an exploding dye pack.
In the latest heist, the robber walked into the Old National Bank on Stadium Drive pulled out a silver handgun and pointed it at bank employees.
He stashed the cash in a bag and fled.
The Dye-pack exploded in the parking lot, prompting the robber to abandon the bag on the ground before getting into a black Chevy Impala, where a getaway driver was waiting.
Police say the dye pack is designed to leave a suspect stained with paint. He was 5’10” and in his early 20’s.
Monday the Chemical Bank on West Main was held up by a man who did not display a gun and fled in a White Impala. It’s not clear if the two crimes are connected.
