PORTAGE (WKZO) — Rob Thomas, the owner of BD’s Mongolian Grill on South Westnedge in Portage has issued a statement after closing the restaurant for the last time this weekend.
He doesn’t say why it’s closing, only that he is offering the same positions to his Portage employees at the other two locations in Okemos and Grand Rapids.

“After 10 years in business, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors in Portage. While we can understand the disappointment many have expressed, this is not an indication or reflection of the health of the bd’s Mongolian Grill brand. This restaurant closing in Portage will neither impact operations in Grand Rapids nor Okemos. Furthermore, all employees that worked at our Portage location are offered their same position at either our nearby Grand Rapids or Okemos locations.”
