GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) — The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a winter weather advisory for Kalamazoo, Van Buren, Allegan, Calhoun and Barry Counties through 1 Monday morning.
Lake effect snow will be a regular feature of a cold front that will blow in Sunday afternoon and hang around for the beginning of the work week.
Deteriorating weather conditions have made driving in west Michigan hazardous, some areas more than others.
There have been a number of reports of slide offs and minor crashes, one involving a Police squad car in Grand Rapids.
The worst of the crashes left two people dead in the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming.
The two victims were in a car that slid on icy pavement and crashed near 28th Ave. S.W. and Michael Avenue.
If you are going out today, caution is advised.
