Bio

 

Jim is a native of the Kalamazoo area, born in Kalamazoo and raised in Portage. He
attended Portage Northern High School…a Huskie along with morning star Lori Moore!
Jim spent 7 years in the U.S. Army, traveling to Germany, Alaska, and several posts in
the U.S.
Jim got his start in radio at WMU’s student station, WIDR-FM…then moved on to stints
in Otsego and Frankfort, before enrolling at WMU to earn a degree in education. He
taught in Plainwell and Gobles before returning to radio in 2002. Jim began his stint at
WKZO in 2007.
In his free time, Jim enjoys his new (and 1st) grandchild, Aiden, watching his daughter
swim and dive for Loy Norrix and play goalie for the Kalamazoo United women’s
lacrosse team. He has spent 26 years as a wedding reception DJ as well, and enjoys
reading and watching TV. He has a son, Charlie, a daughter, Maggie, and a soon-to-be
daughter-in-law, Val.
