KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Despite the chilly weather, families gathered on the sidewalks for the 57th annual Holiday Parade, officially kicking off the holiday season in downtown Kalamazoo.
There were about 90 parade units this year, as well as 5 cold-air balloons, the WMU Bronco Marching Band, several local bands, floats, and Santa himself.
And the kids certainly didn’t mind the snow as many dressed up in their winter gear, threw small snowballs, and rolled around in the Saturday morning snowfall.
According to the Downtown Kalamazoo website, the “parade attracts up to 30,000 spectators making this event the single largest gathering in a single 90-minute period.”
Photos of the parade can be seen on our Facebook page and in our Photo Gallery.
