KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The 38th-annual Kalamazoo Klassic 5K and 10K events are set to get underway Saturday morning.
Organizer Bonnie Sexton said around 1,000 people are currently slated to run in the 5K, 10K and kids events on Friday.
“We’re expecting between 1,200 and 1,300 participants altogether,” Sexton said.
The proceeds will benefit MRC Industries.
“MRC is a local non-profit organization in the Kalamazoo area,” Sexton said. “We serve between 500 and 600 people with disabilities a year.”
The 10K gets underway at 7:30 a.m. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. A full schedule of events can be found here.
Last-minute sign-ups will be accepted from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the YMCA, 1001 W. Maple St.
