HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Michigan law enforcement agencies, from Holland’s to Michigan State Police, are cracking down on impaired drivers. Extra patrols start today, Oct. 18, 2018, and will run through Nov. 4, 2018. October is an especially deadly time of year for alcohol and drug-related crashes, according to MSP officials.
From 2011 to 2016, during this period of time, Michigan recorded 151 total deadly crashes.
“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” aims at reducing the number of impaired drivers through education and enforcement. A driver impaired after using a legal medication or drug may still be arrested.
