DETROIT, MI (WHTC) – About 24 hours before today’s deadline, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners agreed to pursue a consent agreement with the state in an effort to emerge from a financial emergency declared by Governor Snyder last week. The county has a 52 million-dollar structural deficit, along with 1.3 billion dollars in unfunded health care-related liabilities, and county Executive Warren Evans had pushed for a consent agreement as opposed to other alternatives that could strip the county of local control.
