KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers say a 21-year-old motorcyclist is lucky he was wearing a helmet when he rear-ended a car at the entrance to the BTR Park Sunday afternoon.
Investigators say the car had stopped at Parkview and Campus Drive to make a turn at about 4:30 p.m. and the biker, who may have been speeding at the time, crashed into the back of the vehicle and flew head first through the rear window.
He then fell to the pavement.
Sgt. Richard McCall says the helmet was probably the only thing that prevented the young man from suffering serious head injuries.
