HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – As a New Year begins, school administrators across the state and around the country wonder what direction will Washington and Lansing take when it comes to education.
Holland School Superintendent Brian Davis has his concerns. In a recent appearance on “WHTC Talk of the Town,” Dr. Davis said, “It’s going to be interesting to see in the next policy year, at the state and national level, what’s going to happen in respect to education reform. There’s a lot of talk about the Common Core (standards), how we hold schools accountable from a funding standpoint, and how do we measure academic progress and report that out to the community.”
Some of the top questions nationwide appear to be schools of choice, addressing the transgender issue and dealing with existing programs such as Common Core, Title Nine and mandatory nutrition guidelines.
