DOWAGIAC, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Cass County man was hospitalized after losing control of his vehicle and colliding with a home on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 8th.
Dowagiac police and fire departments were dispatched at 4:40 P.M. after the 47-year-old driver crashed into a home on the 500 block of West High Street in Dowagiac.
The man was sent to Ascension Borgess-Lee Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Officers say that no one else was injured in the crash, but the house that was hit suffered substantial damage.
Investigators are currently unsure of what led to the driver losing control of their vehicle, but believe he may have suffered a “medical event” just prior to the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor in the incident.
