KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Families looking for a free, kid-friendly event can head out to Bronson Park Saturday afternoon for the 10th Annual Children’s Peace Festival.
The Peace Pizzazz festival focuses on using the “Golden Rule” as a model for creating peace in children’s lives.
This free event takes place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is full of activities, arts and games, singing, dancing, and even a parade at 3:30 p.m.
In addition, the Kalamazoo Public Library, KPS Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice and Mayor Bobby Hopewell will have a booth at the festival.
They will be passing out 1,000 free books to the first 1,000 children who sign up for the Summer Reading Program from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Dr. Rice says it’s their hope and effort to help stop the “summer slide.”
