MASON TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) –Cass County Deputies say a medical issue appears to have been the cause of a crash that injured an Elkhart, Indiana woman.
Deputies say it appears that 47 year old Stephanie Akers came to the T-intersection where Five Points Road ends at Grange Street in Mason Township during the noon hour on Saturday, blew through the stop sign, and slammed into a tree on the other side of Grange.
She was wearing her seatbelt, which may have saved her life.
Akers is recovering at Elkhart General.
