KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s National Public Health Week, and officials are doing their part to improve Kalamazoo’s health and safety.
Dr. William Nettleton with the Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department hopes residents will focus on the top health issues that are affecting the area: the opioid crisis, sexual transmitted infections, and child mortality.
He adds that each day this week their Facebook page will be focusing on different health topics that residents can look back on and learn more about.
Monday, April 2 – Behavioral Health: Advocate for and promote well-being
Tuesday, April 3 – Communicable Disease: Learn about ways to prevent the spread of disease
Wednesday, April 4 – Environmental Health: Help protect and maintain a healthy planet
Thursday, April 5 – Injury and Violence Prevention: Learn about the effects of injury and violence on health
Friday, April 6 – Ensuring the Right to Health: Advocate for everyone’s right to a healthy life by achieving health equity for all
