KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies are warning residents about recent phone scams involving phony officers.
Sheriff Rick Fuller can assure you that if you receive a phone call from the sheriff threatening an arrest if you don’t immediately pay your taxes that that is not part of his job description and the person on the phone is a con artist.
In fact with the tax deadline inching closer on April 17th, many residents have been receiving these calls, even Sheriff Fuller.
He adds that the IRS and the State Treasury never do business over the phone, and they do not dispatch the police to make those arrests.
They have their own agents for that job.
