DETROIT (WKZO-AM) — Ford is installing standard computerized suspension technology in its 2017 Fusion Sport that will reduce damage done by running over potholes.
Jason Michener is an engineer with the carmaker and says the sedan’s new detection components make rough rides smoother by keeping wheels out of pavement divots.
“We needed hardware and software that can not only detect potholes, but react fast enough to make a difference for you, the driver,” Michener said. “We’re finally at that point.
AAA says the average pothole damage repair costs drivers around $300.
Michener says the vehicles will be in dealer showrooms this summer.
