BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek teen may be lucky to be alive after he caught a bullet in the head.
The 19-year-old was riding in the passenger seat of a moving car when at least seven rounds were fired at his vehicle from another car at the intersection of South Avenue and High Street.
One of those bullets ripped into the vehicle and hit him in the face. It happened at about 4:37 p.m. Wednesday. He was immediately taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital by the woman behind the wheel. The wound is not considered to be life-threatening.
Detectives are working on leads and do not believe it was a random act.
