PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — A former Portage basketball coach is going to trial for an affair with a student.
Corey McNeal, who taught elementary physical education, has been bound over to stand trial for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a high school senior that began when classes began last fall. McNeal walked into his preliminary hearing facing four counts of criminal sexual conduct and walked out also facing three counts of possessing and distributing child sexually abusive material.
That’s because his 17-year-old victim testified that they not only had sex numerous times, but also exchanged sexually explicit text messages.
McNeal resigned from the Portage School district when he was charged in December. He is free on bond awaiting trial.
