WASHINGTON (WKZO-AM) — A west Michigan congressman who has been watching presidential politics play out from close range for decades says it won’t take long before Republican candidates start dropping out in large numbers.
Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, said we will see more candidates surrender on the GOP side after assessing their performance in Iowa and New Hampshire.
“These early states, even though they’re very small, they whittle the field,” Upton said. “You’ll see five or six, maybe even seven, of our field drop out within the next two weeks ago.”
If you want to vote in the March 8 presidential primary but haven’t registered to vote, the deadline to do so is by the close of business Monday.
You need to be at least 18 years old by March 8 to register.
