KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man who is charged with the cold-case murder of Alfred Minka has been ordered held without bond in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
Todd Maneke allegedly borrowed money from his 88-year-old neighbor to support his drug habit, and was seen driving the murdered man’s car on the day of his death.
Victor Ledbetter, a detective with Kalamazoo Public Safety, said they had no witness to the crime, so they have had to put together their case bit by bit.
On Tuesday, Maneke was formally charged with open murder.
Minka left behind four children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. They said they were relieved to have a suspect in custody.
