VICKSBURG (WKZO-AM) — The village manager of Vicksburg is retiring in August.
Ken Schippers, who has spent 23 years with the village, received multiple rounds of applause and a standing ovation after making the announcement at the Vicksburg Village Council meeting on Monday.
After taking the job, Schippers helped guide the village away from bankruptcy and embarrassment after his predecessor pleaded guilty to embezzlement in 2014.
He later helped develop Vicksburg’s long-term strategic plan.
