BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A shooting in the 100 block of Cliff Street in Battle Creek brought a party to an end, but not right away.
An unidentified male was shot in the arm as he stood with outside the residence. He was loaded into a private car and driven to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital before officers with the Battle Creek Police Department arrived.
Arriving officers discovered the party continuing despite the shooting. They had to clear 100 guests from the property so they could check for other victims. During the search, they found three loaded semi-automatic handguns discarded in a bedroom.
The man who was shot was not able to identify the person that shot him. He will survive.
The firearms are being tested to determine if one of them was used in the shooting.
Police are asking that anyone who knows who fired the shots or who owned the guns to come forward.
