BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Battle Creek-based Kellogg has purchased Egypt’s largest cereal company.
The world’s largest cereal maker has agreed to pay $50 million to acquire Mass Food Group, which introduced the breakfast staple to Egyptian consumers in 1996.
Earlier this month, Kellogg agreed to pay $450 million for a 50 percent interest in food supplier Multipro, which serves Nigerian and Ghanaian markets.
Earlier this year, the company bought Egyptian biscuit-maker Bisco Misr.
