LANSING, MI (WHTC) – An active militia group in Michigan has apparently disavowed any knowledge or support of an effort by an Arizona man to arrest US Senator Debbie Stabenow next month. Jon Ritzheimer says in an open online letter that he wants to round up all of those involved in the nuclear deal with Iran, including President Obama, and have them answer for their actions in court. He targeted the Lansing Democrat first because of his “strong ties” with the Michigan Militia and this state’s “lax gun laws.” The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia responded on its Facebook page that they didn’t appreciate “armed out-of-state groups invading Michigan and throwing around the ‘Michigan Militia’ name as participants,” and that Ritzheimer’s effort is only meant to “stir up trouble.” Stabenow’s staff is not commenting on Ritzheimer’s letter, and law enforcement entities are involved in the matter.
