KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Pfizer says a fire at the company’s global supply center in Portage was caused by over-pressurization.
The pharmaceutical giant says no injuries were reported after the incident, which happened late Saturday morning in Building No. 335.
They say the fire was snuffed out quickly by the sprinkler system, and there was limited burn damage to the facility itself. They also say no workers were in the area when the fire happened.
The fire was reported to the Department of Environmental Quality’s office in Kalamazoo, but not to the state.
Pfizer said it’s still carrying out the rest of its investigation.
