BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — The Major Crimes Task Force in Calhoun County says they’re not sure if a sniper is taking potshots at passing traffic on Interstate 94, after the passenger-side window of a car shattered while navigating the freeway Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office is trying to determine whether the vehicle was struck by gunfire or debris kicked up by another vehicle.
The agency also says it has been stymied by the fact that some of the early evidence of projectiles hitting cars was repaired before it could be examined, and investigators only have pictures of the damage.
No evidence of a shooter was found after searchers explored the area.
A similar report was filed Aug. 19 near Battle Creek.
