DEARBORN (WKZO) — It is going to be a busy Labor Day weekend for tourist destinations and roadways as Michigan residents try to take advantage of the last three day weekend while the weather is still warm.
1.2-million Michiganders will be traveling, that’s the biggest number since the year before the “Great Recession”
AAA Spokesperson Susan Hiltz at AAA says that may mean making moves now so you are ready to go on Thursday or Friday. Plan ahead, make your reservations and make sure your car is serviced, the tires inflated, the oil pan filled and the windshield washer reservoir to the top.
She says a hot weather forecast and low gas prices are also contributing to the larger than usual number of people who plan to travel this weekend.
