LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state House Criminal Justice Committee meets Tuesday in Lansing. The members may take up a vote on legislation that would protect minors from criminal prosecution if they seek medical assistance for themselves or someone else in a medical emergency because of prescription drug abuse. The bill was sponsored by Stevensville Republican Al Pscholka after a 16-year-old Watervliet High junior, Mason Mizwicki, died at a party last New Year’s Eve from taking too many prescription drugs while his friends didn’t call for help for fear of being arrested.
