LANSING, MI (WTVB) – A new poll of Michigan voters verifies what many suspected, it was just too complicated. The survey of 600 Michiganders found that the road funding issue on the ballot earlier this month, Proposal One, was defeated because it included funding for schools and cities and not just roads. Nearly half said in the Denno Research Poll that if it had just been for roads, it would have passed.
When asked who they think should draft the next proposal, the largest number, 26% said the Michigan Department of Transportation, 23% say the legislature, 19% said the public and just 15% would assign the task to Governor Snyder.
65% say that they want something done sooner rather than later.
