LANSING (WKZO)– Kalamazoo Freshman Representative Jon Hoadley has just gotten his first bill approved by the Michigan House.
Hoadley proposed a measure that would increase the number of state inspectors who check on food stores.
He says the lack of manpower now has meant that thousands of inspections aren’t being done on an annual basis.
He says it’s a time honored tradition that he has to treat his colleagues to a regional specialty after the passage of his first bill. But since they don’t make a craft-near-beer and alcohol is banned from the floor, he is taking dessert.
The legislation is not a law yet…it now heads to the State Senate.
