KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Phase two of the Stadium Drive improvement project begins today and some of the bottlenecks and closures will take effect immediately.
MDOT Spokesman Nick Schrippa says Stadium Drive should be reduced to one lane in each direction by the weekend and that’s the good news. The bad news is that most of the ramps will be closed as of this morning.
They will be rebuilding the entire intersection to replace the entrance and exit ramps on the west side that were downright dangerous.
There could be some late night lane closures on U.S. 131 when they start taking down the bridges. The goal is to have the project done in September.
