INKSTER (WKZO) — Video recorded by a Police Dashcam in Inkster, Michigan in January has gone viral and could result in charges against the three white officers who beat and Tazed 57-year-old Floyd Dent.
His only apparent crime, running a stop sign in a high crime area, and it’s not even clear he did that.
The video shows Dent being dragged from his car at gunpoint, put in a choke hold and punched in the head over a dozen times and then Tazed three times.
Dent has been an autoworker for 37 years and has no criminal history. A judge dismissed almost all of the charges against him once he got a look at the video.
The State Police are investigating the officers, not Dent.
A cocaine possession charge was not dropped. Police claim they found a baggie of the drug under his passenger seat, but it was reported by an officer who has been charged with planting evidence before.
Dent’s blood screen showed no evidence of drugs.
