KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A researcher at WMU has done an investigation in defense of getting a college degree, after a number of reports that claim that getting one just isn’t worth the time or the student loans anymore.
The survey is the product of five years of work by Dr. Ewa Urban, of WMU’s Career and Student Employment Services.
Spokesperson Cheryl Roland Says she found what they are calling an 89% success rate just three months after graduation.
Either students are employed, going to grad school or working part time.
She says 4 out of 5 of those working full time were working in their field with median starting salaries in the 45 to 50-thousand dollar range.
Current and prospective students or any interested person can go online and get the postgraduate information about every major and every degree offered–graduate and undergraduate,” Urban says.
