KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo City Commissioners have unanimously endorsed the Road Funding package put on the May ballot by the State Legislature, saying it’s a good plan, probably the best they can expect to get out of this State Legislature, and one that will send road dollars to Kalamazoo.
The exact amount of money Kalamazoo and any jurisdiction will receive will grow after the first two year and depend on how much the state receives through the new taxing structure, and distributed by the States Road Funding formula.
They were also scheduled to endorse a tax renewal vote for the Transit Authority, but it was put off a few weeks while authority members further refine that ballot item.
