LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state House Tax Policy Committee has endorsed ending Michigan’s seven-year-old film incentive program. Proponents of ending it say that the incentives have failed to develop any sustaining employment or revenue to the state, and other issues such as funding road infrastructure repairs and renovations take priority. Supporters of the incentives counter that jobs have been created and that there needs to be a long-term commitment to this. The full House now considers the legislation.
