LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The group Citizens for Fair Taxes, led by leaders of some of the leading labor groups in Michigan, has begun an effort to put on the November 2016 ballot a request to raise the state’s Corporate Income Tax from six percent to 11 percent. Officials say that this would generate about 900 million dollars annually for road repairs while preserving the Earned Income Tax Credit and other social welfare programs conservatives are targeting for budget cuts to pay for increased road funding.
