LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The next round of collective bargaining between the state and its public employee unions begins tomorrow when the Office of the State Employer meets with the United Auto Workers. Current state contracts expire at the end of the year, and MIRS News reports that it’s not clear at this point if the various unions representing employees in various departments can bargain together as a coalition or have to have separate talks with each agency. Most of the other negotiations start next month.
