WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO)– A Michigan woman believed to be the oldest living veteran visited Washington, DC yesterday, thanks to Kalamazoo based Talons Out Honor Flight.
Emma Didlake is 110-years-old and served in the Women’s Army Air Corp during World War Two. She became a WAAC in 1943 at the age of 38 and had five children.
Yesterday she was honored in the Oval Office by the President.
In addition to meeting with the Chief Executive, Ms. Didlake toured the Women’s Military War Memorial and the Martin Luther King memorial.
