MUSKEGON (WKZO) — Michigan State Police accuse a 20-year-old woman in jail in Baltimore, Maryland of scamming an elderly Muskegon man out of more than 120-thousand dollars.
Authorities in Michigan are working to extradite Jessica Traves to face charges. She is accused of convincing the victim that she was suffering from cancer and needed cash to pay for chemotherapy while the two were on a flight from Detroit to Virginia.
According to investigators, Traves used the man’s name to open credit card accounts, charging over 80-thousand dollars and also securing more than 40-thousand dollars in cash advances.
