PONTIAC (WKZO) — A citizens organization in Pontiac is trying to use public pressure to force the Silverdome’s owner to clean up the empty stadium.
Mona Hofmeister with Citizens Against Blight says Toronto-based Triple Investment Group is being held to a lower standard. The city sold the dome for 583-thousand dollars in 2009.
The stadium’s tattered roof is now completely gone and fixtures including turf and chairs were auctioned off last year. The city administration hasn’t been able to contact Triple Investment for details about future Silverdome plans.
