DETROIT (WKZO) — Former Detroit emergency manager Kevyn Orr is cautioning that even though the city is out of bankruptcy, its financial issues are far from being solved.
In comments to the Detroit Economic Club, Orr expressed confidence in the team in place from Mayor Mike Duggan to the City Council in keeping the city on the path towards economic growth. He also noted that while many think bankruptcy is the end of the challenge, in reality “it’s the start.”
Orr is now working as special counsel to the emergency manager in Atlantic City, New Jersey and was appointed to the post earlier this month by Governor Chris Christie.
